Abstract

Applications of positive spin polarized muons as probes in solid state physics and chemistry are reviewed. Several recent examples are treated in some detail, including the analysis of internal fields in ferromagnetic cobalt, diffusion and determination of the muon site in copper and the interpretation of reaction rate constants of muonium in the gaseous phase and in aqueous solutions.
