Zusammenfassung
Wie wichtig der Begriff “strukturelle Mehrdeutigkeit” in CHOMSKY-Sprachen [6] ist, zeigte sich eindringlich, als man daranging, ALGOL 60-Programme automatisch in Maschinencode zu übersetzen. Dabei stellte sich alsbald heraus, daß ALGOL 60 nach dem ursprünglichen Bericht [1] nicht eindeutig war. Im Zusammenwirken von Lauf- und bedingten Anweisungen ließen sich Programme konstruieren, deren syntaktische Struktur mehrdeutig war und die infolgedessen inäquivalente Deutungen des Programmablaufs erlaubten. Im revidierten Bericht [2] ist die genannte Mehrdeutigkeit beseitigt worden.
