Abstract
The present study is an investigation of the qualitative and quantitative acoustic behaviour of laying hens (hybrid SHAVER starcross 188) kept in different systems. To gain the necessary basics for this work, preliminary studies were made on the acoustic behaviour of free range hens and a group of wild fowl (Gallus gallus murghi) which lived free on the fringes of a forest.
