Dilatometric Study of Consolidated Powdered Materials

Abstract

For the sixt past years, the author has been studying, with a Chevenard dilatometer, the thermal behaviour of consolidated powdered materials: silico-aluminates (clays, molecular sieves), metals and metallic salts (fluorides, sulphates, formiates) oxides and hydroxides. The researches have been dealing with solid-solid and solid-gas reactions (sintering, polymorphic and second order transformations, thermal decompositions), identification of minerals, analytical determination of a constituant in a mixture, and matrice effects. A great number of examples are given.
