Abstract

The reference to Newton quoted in Chapter 5 was not prompted by vanity - it reflected Bronstein’s perception of the world. Physics for him was more than a game with the rules set once and for all. It was a construction that had been created by Newton and other natural scientists of the past. He was keenly aware that positrons and cosmology were organically linked with the Greek’s atoms and Newton’s mechanics.
