Abstract

Curtain walls can be divided in two main types according to the system of fabrication and installation: stick systems and unitised panels. The traditional curtain-wall construction is the stick system, where mullions and transoms are assembled on site, which is the subject of this chapter. Unitised curtain walls are delivered to site as pre-assembled large panels, fully glazed, for speedy installation. This system is covered in Chapter 8.
