Abstract

Until a few decades ago, the construction of subjectivity had a clear limit: old age. At a certain moment, retirement indicated the end of any promise and the beginning of the end, that is to say, old age only anticipated the unpostponable sign of death as the end of any anticipation, ruling out, of course, possible religious options.
