The Formation of a Virtual Educational Environment as an Element in the System of Improving the Digital Competences of Teachers

Abstract

Under influence of latest information and communication technologies, the processes of digital transformation are taking place in all areas of social development: economy, production, public administration, legislative sphere, socio-cultural sphere, science and education. Undoubtedly, specialist in any field has to meet modern requirements of the digital society, and the problem for the education system is the formation of such a specialist. Modern social development and formation of a competitive specialist underlies digitalization of education, which requires an appropriate level from teachers as subjects of the educational process, digital educational environment, corresponding improvement of training system and professional development of pedagogical workers. These are the issues that are raised in the study. The analysis of the main legal normative documents that determine the direction of the development of pedagogical education in Ukraine and regulate the procedure for improving skills. The research analysis of the leading Ukrainian and European scientists gave grounds for a detailed consideration of the system main components to improve digital competences of teachers. The components of digital competence are singled out and ways of their formation and improvement are proposed. There is considered a problem of qualitative renewal of the system for a professional development of pedagogical workers, in particular, in the field of digitalization. A virtual educational environment is proposed to form and improve digital competences, its modular structure and fill it with the necessary digital educational resources. The expediency of its implementation and use to ensure the improvement of the digital competence of teachers has been scientifically substantiated.
