Zusammenfassung
Die soziale Umgebung steht mit mehreren Aspekten des Schlafes in Zusammenhang. Insbesondere enge Beziehungen beeinflussen das Schlafverhalten (Schlafenszeitaktivitäten und -timing) und mehrere Schlafparameter wie Schlafqualität und -dauer. Bindungs- und anthropologische Bedingungen erleichtern das Verständnis der Mechanismen, durch welche der Schlaf von zusammenlebenden Familienmitgliedern beeinflusst wird. In diesem Kapitel wird die Literatur zu engen Familienbeziehungen mit Paaren und Eltern-Kind-Beziehungen als Beispiel überprüft. Die Ergebnisse legen nahe, dass Familienbeziehungen den Schlaf eines Individuums durch direkte (soziale Kontrolle) und indirekte (geteilte Umgebung, Koregulation) Mittel beeinflussen. Es werden auch Belege für bidirektionale Assoziationen (Schlaf beeinflusst die Beziehungsfunktion) vorgestellt. Insgesamt scheinen zusammenlebende enge Beziehungen stark mit Schlafqualität, Schlafdauer und Schlafzeitpunkt verbunden zu sein. Zukünftige Forschungen könnten von einem verstärkten Fokus auf zirkadiane Rhythmik im familiären Kontext und von Forschungsdesigns profitieren, die richtungsweisend sind. Darüber hinaus sind Schlafmerkmale eine Möglichkeit, wie Beziehungen die Gesundheit beeinflussen. Daher könnte die Untersuchung von Beziehungsfaktoren und Schlaf dazu beitragen, Ziele zur Verbesserung der Gesundheit zu identifizieren.
