Abstract

This study discusses the importance of emotional intelligence and personality of coastal residents in increasing environmental awareness. Emphasis is placed on the complex relationship between individual psychological aspects and awareness of environmental sustainability in coastal areas. The method of distributing 180 questionnaires randomly to the surrounding residents was used to collect data. The findings of this study provide two important outcomes: First, emotional intelligence has a significant and positive relationship with environmental awareness. Second, personality has a significant and positive relationship with environmental awareness. The findings of this research can serve as a tool, for professionals, in comprehending the range of viewpoints regarding people’s personality and level of consciousness. Such understanding can contribute to promoting and sustaining environmental well-being in the face of the complex challenges posed by environmental sustainability.
