Abstract
This study examines the potential impact of metaverse-based banking on employment in the banking sector in India. With the increasing adoption of digital technologies, especially in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic, metaverse-based banking is emerging as a potential game-changer for the banking industry. This study explores the potential new job opportunities that could be created, as well as the potential job displacement that could occur in traditional banking roles. It also examines the need for upskilling and reskilling of the existing workforce to adapt to the new requirements of metaverse-based banking. The study highlights the potential benefits and challenges associated with the adoption of metaverse-based banking and its impact on financial inclusion and access to banking services in India. The study concludes with recommendations for policymakers, banking institutions, and individuals on how to leverage the potential benefits of metaverse-based banking while mitigating the potential negative impacts.
