In this chapter, we introduce the relationship between music and health and the potential benefits of using music as a therapeutic tool to improve the health and well-being of people with different conditions. We briefly introduce neuroimaging techniques and how they have significantly enhanced our comprehension of the neural underpinnings associated with music, music’s capacity to improve health and well-being, and how this can lay the groundwork for the design and implementation of new music-based interventions.
