Abstract

Working with advanced practice providers (APPs) is a key part of the evolving healthcare landscape. Advanced practice providers include both physician assistants and nurse practitioners. Both groups attain advanced degrees that include didactic education as well as clinical rotations. The advanced practice provider group has a wealth of medical, procedural, and institutional knowledge. Investing in advanced practice provider education and fostering a respectful working environment leads to workplace satisfaction, high retention, and creates a strong reliable provider group.
