Abstract
By the time you are in your fourth year of medical school and applying for a residency position, you will have already lived through two stressful application seasons: when you applied to college and again when you applied to medical school. You might also have applied for summer internships, research positions, other graduate schools, or even jobs along the way. It’s unlikely though, that you have encountered an application system quite like The Match. This chapter will review the mechanics of the Match process and dispel commonly held myths about the process.
