Abstract
COVID-19 pandemic has significantly shaped the way children use the internet, leading to a notable increase in their engagement with online gaming. This raises concerns regarding their privacy and online security while playing online games. This paper aims to pinpoint prevalent security vulnerabilities children encounter through an analysis of survey data. Employing the Attention, Relevance, Confidence, and Satisfaction (ARCS) model as the study's conceptual framework, a web-based game named ‘ChildSecurity’ has been proposed and developed. The game addresses the critical issue of cybersecurity in the context of increased online gaming among children, by educating children about protecting themselves from potential online risks while participating in gaming activities, thus contributing to enhancing their digital safety awareness.
