Abstract

The agricultural practice of organic farming, which is well-known for its environmentally sustainable approach, has received widespread recognition worldwide as a feasible solution to the challenges posed by conventional agricultural systems. In the specific context of India, there has been a remarkable upsurge in the adoption of organic farming in recent times. This all-encompassing review paper titled “Unlocking the Potential of Organic Farming: Balancing Health, Sustainability, and Affordability in India” provides a detailed examination of organic farming practices within the country. It encompasses a thorough exploration of the health implications of organic produce, sustainability factors, economic viability, and prevailing policy frameworks. Moreover, the research delves into the obstacles linked with expanding organic farming and puts forth convincing instances and best practices that have produced affirmative results. Furthermore, the review outlines future-oriented directions and strategic recommendations aimed at advancing organic farming practices in India. By providing valuable insights, this chapter serves as an indispensable resource for policymakers, researchers, farmers, and stakeholders in the agricultural domain, empowering them to make well-informed decisions for the continued growth and enhancement of organic farming in India.
