Abstract
It is told, perhaps apocryphally, that Christiaan Huygens (1629–1695) dropped a stone into the canal next to his house when he was still a boy.
There are many degrees of Probable, some nearer Truth than others, in the determining of which lies the chief exercise of our Judgment.
— Christiaan Huygens Cosmotheoros
