Abstract
At the beginning of the twentieth century, tourism was seen as an alternative to agrarian and industrial crisis and as a new source of wealth. In Malaga, after the end-of-the-century depression, initiatives arose that pursued the consolidation of an attractive offer for tourist flows with high purchasing power, at a time when good weather and beach were beginning to be valued not only for winter tourism but also for rest stays in summer.
