Abstract
Wound hygiene plays a key role in wound care and consists of different steps according to the wound’s healing phase and local conditions such as infection, contamination, and presence of debris. Cleansing and irrigation solutions have evolved throughout the years and can be combined with mechanical cleansing techniques, all discussed in the following chapter.
