Abstract

As hypoglycemia in hospitalized patients is associated with increased morbidity and mortality, timely identification and effective treatment of hypoglycemia are important. This chapter describes the significance, risk factors, treatment protocols, and strategies for prevention of inpatient hypoglycemia. Additionally, emerging considerations of inpatient continuous glucose monitoring systems and hypoglycemia prediction models are described.
