Ethnopsychologie: Einfügen von soziokulturellen Komponenten in eine biopsychologische Disziplin

Zusammenfassung

Der Bedarf an einer vielschichtigen integrierten Verhaltens- und Kulturwissenschaft hat zur Gründung einer Reihe von indigenen Psychologien auf der ganzen Welt geführt. Insbesondere verbindet die mexikanische Ethnopsychologie eine universelle Auffassung von Psychologie mit einer Berücksichtigung von kulturellen und lokalen Manifestationen psychologischer Phänomene. Um Kultur in die psychologische Forschung einzubringen, hat die mexikanische ethnopsychologische Tradition die Konzeptualisierung und Messung psychologischer Manifestationen von Kultur betont. Zu den in relevanter und sensibler Weise zu messenden Variablen gehören Normen, Überzeugungen, Werte, kulturelle Syndrome und Bräuche. Ein Beispiel ist die Untersuchung der historisch-soziokulturellen Prämissen der mexikanischen Familie, die sich auf die Regeln konzentriert, die das Verhalten zwischen Männern und Frauen und zwischen Eltern und ihren Kindern regeln. Dieses Kapitel behandelt die Spezifikation und Messung der Normen und Überzeugungen, die das Verhalten in Paarbeziehungen, Familie, Geschlechterbeziehungen und zeitgenössischen Fragen regeln. Darüber hinaus ist zentral für menschliche Beziehungen die Art und Weise, wie Menschen alltägliche Lebensprobleme bewältigen, die Literatur zu diesem Thema findet sich unter Bewältigungsstilen. Ein Abschnitt ist den Bewältigungsstilen unter dem Begriff „Lebensphilosophie“ gewidmet, der die Konzeptualisierung und Messung der in Mexiko verwendeten passiven (selbstmodifizierenden) und aktiven (selbstbestätigenden) Bewältigungsstile einschließt. Ein letzter Abschnitt ist der kulturell relevanten Definition und Messung von Individualismus und Kollektivismus innerhalb der mexikanischen Kultur gewidmet. Als Endergebnis wird die Beziehung von Prämissen, Bewältigungsstilen und Individualismus – Kollektivismus zu psychologischen Variablen präsentiert.
