Abstract

Alzheimer’s disease can now be diagnosed more definitively, and treatment is available, although not curative. Features of Alzheimer’s disease include the deposition of amyloid and Tau protein in the brain.

Diminution of cognitive function in older adults can be apparent without necessarily having Alzheimer’s disease. Testing cognitive abilities can be relatively simple.

Strides are being made in the treatment of Parkinsonism with medication and neurosurgical techniques.

Effective treatment for migraine is available, often now in the form of triptans.
