Abstract

Due to the increasing utilization of endovascular interventions to treat vascular disease, a dedicated angiography suite is now an important component of modern vascular care. A variety of factors must be considered in order to setup a safe and efficient angiography suite, including location, layout, equipment, and supplies. Furthermore, a hybrid operating suite may add additional efficiency in treating patients with vascular disease by increasing surgical capability during a single intervention. Unfortunately, the increase in endovascular interventions has led to an increased risk of musculoskeletal injuries amongst interventionalists. Interventionalists must maintain awareness of body mechanics to improve load bearing and reduce long-term occupational injuries.
