Abstract

This chapter shows that the existing fears of radiation exposure are unfounded. Several sources of danger: accidents on transport, smoking, alcohol and drugs, fires, chemicals, terror, and medical errors are described. It is shown that the direct human health danger of all nuclear applications in industry, power production, medicine, and research is significantly lower than the health hazards of all other non-nuclear sources of danger.
