Abstract

This chapter introduces the topic of anti-immigrant attitudes. We discuss why this is a salient topic and illustrate the contribution this short book makes to the literature on anti-immigrant attitudes. In short, we find that grievances, to a lesser extent entrenched values, and above all interactions between natives and immigrants/ minorities matter in explaining individual variation in anti-immigrant attitudes.
