Abstract
Live streaming of video games is a new form of entertainment attracting millions of users. A unique combination of broadcasting and chat rooms transforms traditionally passive spectating into a deeper social experience. In this paper, we investigate six interaction mechanics that allow viewers to participate actively and to possibly alter the outcome of streamed games with the goal to explore challenges with respect to implementing these mechanics.
