Abstract

Cardiopulmonary arrest in the pediatric population is infrequent and thus it is important that physicians who deal with children are comfortable managing the pediatric airway and proficient in utilizing Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) algorithms. The chapter reviews airway management including discussion on preoxygenation, uncuffed tubes and video laryngoscopy. Additionally, it highlights key medication points for rapid sequence intubation, cardiopulmonary resuscitation and post-arrest care.
