Endoscopic Assisted Canal Wall Up Tmpanomastoidectomy: The Combined Approach Redefined

Textbook of Otitis Media

Abstract

Endoscopic ear surgery is gaining importance in chronic otitis media. The use of the endoscope reduces the incidence of recidivism secondary to residual disease, especially in pars tensa cholesteatomas. Endoscopic-assisted surgery may be useful in cases with an indication for canal wall up tympanomastoidectomy and allows performing more conservative surgeries.
