Abstract
The COVID-19 pandemic was a mass disabling event, and the emerging public health crisis of Long COVID has few modern analogs that can truly predict its full societal impact. A substantial policy response is needed to address this crisis as individually-focused solutions cannot sustainably or effectively combat the scope of the problem. When the Threatcasting pilot project was run in the fall of 2021, much of the information about Long COVID that was needed to make decisions about the disease was still emerging—stalling progress on the issue.
