Abstract
Clinical chemistry is a broad area of pathology covered in traditional clinical pathology or laboratory medicine. Clinical chemistry or clinical biochemistry is a specialized area of clinical pathology that involves the quantitative analysis of bodily fluids for diagnostic and therapeutic purposes [1, 2]. Clinical chemistry focuses on specific analytical procedures that allows for accurate measurements of their concentrations in the body. The field of clinical chemistry is very broad and covers many areas such as evalutation of renal function, clinical enzymology, bone metabolism, evaluation of liver function, endocrine function and reproductive function. The use of clinical laboratory tests in medicine has continued to increase. It has been estimated that around 60-80 percent of clinical decisions are made based on laboratory test results [2].
