Abstract

In the wake of the sudden resignation of seven Black faculty and staff members, the Board of Trustee, scrambles to reorganize its agenda in order to look into the issue. Using narrative fiction, this chapter provides a glimpse at the factors at play in the tug of war between the status quo of silence, symbolic responses or interest convergence on the one hand and the uncertainty of alternative approaches that offer more equity, inclusion and fairness.
