Abstract
Mono PDO threads are versatile and may be utilized in many areas to stimulate collagen. They come in many different lengths. Some examples of areas include the face, neck, arms, abdomen, thighs and virtually any other area in the body. Most are loaded on needles, but some are loaded on cannulas allowing use even in areas that are bony such as the knees. This chapter will outline in detail the steps required for proper insertion of mono PDO threads. A list of recommended supplies is provided, however, the practitioner may add or substitute for personal preference. The method of anesthesia that is ideal is described as well. Although the insertion of mono threads is easier than that of barbed threads, some techniques will enhance the comfort and effectiveness of the procedure. For example, it is important to avoid placing the threads too superficially. This outline serves as a reference only and should not be utilized as the sole means to learn how to perform the procedure. It is still necessary to receive in person hands on training.
