Abstract
As we age, the nose is also affected by flattening, widening, and a more downward pointing profile. Special threads for nose can be used to lift the tip upward as well as to increase the height of the bridge. This creates more forward projection and definition to the nose leading to a more youthful appearance. It is possible to just lift the tip or to just build the bridge if desired, however, in many cases doing both may be beneficial. The PDO threads used are specifically designed for the nose and are sometimes referred to as HIKO or Profile threads. When purchasing threads, it is important to be sure that they are meant to be used for the nose. This chapter will provide step-by-step instruction on how to perform the procedure of nose lift with these PDO threads. The method of anesthesia and specification of thread will be provided. The pattern of thread placement will be illustrated. Tips on technique for insertion will also be described.
