Abstract

The Morningside Model is a person-and family-centered approach that has most frequently been implemented within inclusive classrooms in larger school systems. Strengths and deficits of a learner are considered and help to shape the overall learning targets. Initially developed in 1980 by Kent Johnson, the Morningside Model specifically aims to target students who have fallen behind within the general education system. This model provides a full curriculum aimed at breaking down complex repertoires into attainable skills.
