Abstract

Supraventricular tachycardia (SVT) is an umbrella term that describes several different types of tachyarrhythmias that occur at or above the bundle of His. Some of these include inappropriate sinus tachycardia, atrial tachycardia (AT), AV node re-entry tachycardia (AVNRT), AV re-entry tachycardia (AVRT), and junctional tachycardia. Atrial flutter and atrial fibrillation are two other arrhythmias that originate in the atria and will also be discussed in this section.
