Global Perspectives on Green HRM

Abstract

In the broader human resource management (HRM) literature, green HRM research introduces new, important questions, especially in relation to fostering environmental sustainability. While there is still a growing interest in green HRM research due to organisations’ desire to support and engage in more sustainable practices, little is currently known about green HRM in the United Kingdom (UK). Therefore, in this chapter, we investigated the impact of green HRM practices on employees’ pro-environmental behaviour in the UK. Using the quantitative method, we analyse the impact of (green) HRM practices, such as green recruitment, performance management, training and development, reward management, and empowerment on employees’ pro-environmental behaviours, including green commitment and organisational citizenship behaviour for the environment (OCBE).
