Abstract

The chapter discusses, at length, the environmental hazards of the highly chemical-centric farming, euphemistically known as the “green revolution” in South Asia, in particular, in India. It discusses the potentials of bio farming as an effective alternative to the highly extractive farming centered on chemical fertilizers, to contain the huge environmental hazards, in particular soil-related hazards.
