Zusammenfassung
In diesem Kapitel werden die Erfahrungen von schwulen Paaren mit transnationaler Leihmutterschaft sowie die Gesetze und bürokratische Verfahren besprochen, die erforderlich sind, um Kinder zu machen, die zu den beauftragenden Vätern gehören, und nicht zu den Leihmüttern. Es wird gezeigt, dass die Verfahren, die erforderlich sind, um eine rechtliche Beziehung zwischen Vater und Kind herzustellen, von rabbinischen Verwandtschaftsprinzipien geprägt sind, obwohl das orthodoxe Rabbinat weder diese Familiengründungen gutheisst noch die Kinder als jüdisch anerkennt. Diese bürokratischen Verfahren rund um Vaterschaftstest festigen die Macht des Rabbinats, zu definieren, wer jüdisch und was eine jüdische Familie sind, und ermöglichen gleichzeitig die Bildung von Familien, die diese Definitionen überschreiten. Ihre Begegnungen mit der Bürokratie erinnern schwule Paare an die anhaltende Diskriminierung, der sie ausgesetzt sind, aber sie werfen auch ein Licht auf ihre Macht, finanzielles, soziales und kulturelles Kapital zu mobilisieren.
