Rachels Klage und die Wege zur lesbischen Mutterschaft

Zusammenfassung

Dieses Kapitel verfolgt die Wege lesbischer Frauen in und durch Samenbanken und Fruchtbarkeitskliniken, um das Bild zweier gegensätzlicher Kräfte zu verkomplizieren – orthodoxes Judentum und liberal gesinnte Aktivist:innen – die um die Entstehung gleichgeschlechtlicher Elternschaft ringen. Es zeigt, dass obwohl gleichgeschlechtliche Elternschaft aus der Perspektive des jüdischen Gesetzes ein Oxymoron ist, orthodoxe Rabbiner selbst den Weg für den Zugang von Lesben zur Samenspende geebnet haben. Mit ihren Bemühungen, praktisch alle medizinischen Reproduktionstechnologien koscher zu machen, haben sie ein Verständnis von Elternschaft als universelles Recht und Angelegenheit der persönlichen Würde geschaffen, auf das sich lesbische Frauen wirksam berufen konnten. Da Samenbankmanager, Pflegepersonal und Ärzt:innen Praktiken eingeführt haben, die lesbische Mutterschaft zu einem gemeinsamen Projekt machen, entstehen in ihren Kliniken Familien, die die rabbinische Kosmologie durcheinander bringen.
