Abstract

Communicating about climate change is fraught with political undertones and misunderstandings. Seven climate change communicators and educators tell their stories about how to educate the public, what jobs are available in the climate communication space, and how they arrived in their current work. These stories detail what it’s like to work for a national laboratory teaching scientists how to understand concepts of environmental justice, what it’s like to be on the front lines of trying to respect communities from the face of historical untrusted corporations, and young scientists thrust into the public eye by well-meaning siblings. Educators, evaluators, and business owners share their stories and their passions.
