Abstract
As I stood up, the members of the Fields Committee gazed at me in stony silence, their visages grave. “Ladies and Gentlemen,” I began, “I have asked to come before you to explain the difficulty of the situation you now find yourself in. I apologize for the fact my explanation will take some time. But I must nevertheless begin this story at the beginning, which is now six years past.”
