Abstract

Energy efficiency is always a hot topic. Increasing energy efficiency may or may not reduce the energy consumption. However, it does reduce the total energy consumed per unit of output/product. If, after implementing the energy efficiency projects, a business increases its output, its absolute energy consumption (and therefore cost) may rise above the levels before the energy efficiency improvements. Commercial firms are constantly creating and launching new products that claim to be energy efficient. In the last 15 years, many energy regulations and economic incentives have been implemented in Turkey. Its effects can be high if it is enforced and monitored such as emissions monitored by the Ministry of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change. Many implementation projects and their continuous monitoring outputs are being harvested by 15 energy-intensive industrial facilities. When it is emphasized that this is 9.6% of Turkey’s industrial gas consumption, 1.2% of electricity consumption and 1.1% of total country energy consumption, it will be seen that each study can be a reference for the future improvements to the energy efficiency studies, literatures, investments incentives and authorities policy in Turkey. Information obtained from the industrial plants and other factories reveals the rapid steps taken in the field of energy efficiency.
