Abstract

CPAP represents one of the NIV modalities whose first use was recorded during the 1970s, in neonates. Today, its use is noted in a large number of diseases, and it presents the “gold standard” in the treatment of OSA. It exhibits numerous physiological effects, its application is simple, and there are three types of interface available through which continuous pressure is maintained in the airways.
