An introduction to formal hypothesis testing in Statistics. Two approaches to hypothesis testing: one using critical points and one using P-values. The five steps to each approach with a particular focus on the example of coin flips and the example of the effectiveness of a new drug. An overview of the concepts of deduction and induction in Statistics. The definition of power and relevant formulas.
