Abstract
Seven states are included in the Middle Atlantic region: Pennsylvania, New York, New Jersey, Virginia, West Virginia, Maryland, and Delaware. The estimated population of the seven states in 2022 was 60.6 million. Two of the important factors contributing to water stress in the region are protracted drought and hydraulic fracturing (Fig. 15.1).
