Abstract
Few studies have synthesized the progress of electronic methods of dermatologic care delivery among common inflammatory dermatoses like psoriasis, eczema, acne, and rash. Fifty-three studies were analyzed to summarize the impact of teledermatology on access to dermatologic care, general management, and outcomes for patients with inflammatory skin disease. Teledermatology may serve to increase racial and socioeconomic access to dermatologic care, though technologic limitations are a barrier to synchronous video consultations. Large-scale studies have demonstrated efficient and equivalent management capabilities and outcomes between common inflammatory conditions, although complex diseases, rare diagnoses, and infiltrative processes may require subsequent face-to-face management.
