Abstract

Returning to endurance activities for individuals who have been injured can be a complex process. Treating providers need to be able to understand some key aspects of this process to assist in returning their patients back to endurance sports safely and expeditiously. Team-based care for the athlete as well as the physiologic and psychologic considerations of returning to endurance activities are reviewed in this chapter.
