Abstract

This chapter provides causes, evaluation, clinical manifestations, and treatment of hypokalemia explicitly. Details of hypokalemic and thyrotoxic periodic paralysis and hypokalemic hypertensive as well as normotensive disorders are also provided. Special emphasis was given to urine electrolyte pattern in chronic hypokalemic patients and hypokalemic effect on progression of kidney disease.
