Abstract
The supraclavicular flap is well suited to the reconstruction of large cutaneous defects in the central and lateral neck because of its proximity and good skin color match. Multiple other reconstructive options may be appropriate for cutaneous defects, ranging from skin grafts and local flaps to free tissue transfer. In many cases, these cervical defects require thicker tissue than cannot be provided with skin grafts alone, and in larger defects, tension-free closure cannot be achieved with advancement of local tissue.
