Abstract
The chin is a discrete central aesthetic subunit with the advantage of having redundant skin for recruitment from the surrounding cheeks and neck, but with the disadvantage of tight skin of the central chin. The labiomental crease defines the superior border of the circular subunit while a central chin crease divides the subunit vertically in some patients. The primary concern for repair in the chin is to prevent vertical retraction of the lower lip.
